Pursuing Giraffe
by Anne Innis Dagg
Despite much discrimination in the 1950s, Anne Innis Dagg was one of the first zoologists to go to Africa to do a long term study on the behaviour of a wild animal, and first woman to do a field study. While the giraffe continues to elude her, she becomes horrified by apartheid and as involved with politics as much as natural history.
